Time to fire up the Amplified blogging engine. You may have noticed that we already switched from 08 to 09 up above, but there’s still some content gathering to be done before we hit our stride regarding Amplified09. Feedback from November’s event is still coming in via Twitter, your blogs and of course the wiki. Where appropriate we’ll be be guiding some of that conversation over here where and reflecting on what was achieved and how best to push that forward for February…

In the meantime here’s an opportunity to again say thank you to everyone who attended and helped organise our first event.

Switching direction slightly now but bear with me. When I saw the Playing for Change song around the world video I bookmarked it immediately. As an example of amplification (in every sense of the word) it’s great, but because it’s such a great rendition of such a wonderful song I think sharing it here also acts as a nice Christmas card to everyone reading the blog:

Birmingham Calling

Although the first Amplified event will be held in London it’s important that it reaches further than the M25. Happily we’ve had a lot of excitement about the idea from all over the UK. I couldn’t get to the Birmingham Tuttle last week, but a couple of London Tuttle regulars and Creative Coffee members did and one of the things discussed was Amplified 08.

Luckily Christian Payne was on hand to catch the attendees so we can put some faces (and voices) to our friends in the Midlands:

I’m hoping to see some of these faces on the 27th. Be interesting to find out what cool stuff I’m missing out on by being reluctant to leave Zone 1…

I nipped to NESTA this morning at the crack of dawn (9am ish) and had a first look at the space available to us in November. Check it out:

So my ideas as to how we best utilise this space are rubbish. What do you see yourselves doing there on the 27th? What conversations would you like to have? Do you have an interesting use for one of the pods?

Remember: the conversations we have here will be built upon on a larger scale in February at Amplified 09.

Creative Coffee & Steve’s N96

One of the networks we’re tapping into for Amplified 08 is the Creative Coffee Club which meets on alternate Wednesdays in Leicester and London. This morning we chatted a lot about the upcoming event and threw some more ideas around. One of the regulars, Steve Lawson, was on hand with his N96 to ask a little about CCC and Amplified 08:
